Hey Filmmakers:
Well, we'll have to try the meeting again another time when there is more interest. Meanwhile, I'm busy screenwriting and here is my latest: http://www.jennjacobsen.com/temp/Cultless2.pdf

Thanks Jenn for this offer. As I'm helping my wife care for her Momin a nursing home here in Andrews, NC (100 miles west), my time is already way stretched thin. You are right tho' -- it is a tremendous way to develop chops/ film skills w/out deadlines or business dealings. Good luck to all --

Hey filmmakers! I would like to start a group here in Asheville that put's together short films for fun. No 48 hour deadlines, just fun and a way for all of us to practice filmmaking. We make these little films with the intention of putting them on Vimeo, URTV, online contests, or whatever. How about a meeting, say Saturday afternoon at the Firestorm cafe downtown?

You're welcome Scott. Also check out the celtx forums. They have an active community and script contests etc.

Here are a couple of books on screenwriting that I'm studying:
"Elements of Screenwriting" by Irwin R Blacker
"Story" by Robert McKee
The second one, Story, was recommended by Edwin:

Hey Jenn, thanks for this new link. I've downloaded celtx now and will look it over in the coming weeks. I'm hoping to get a screenplay written too. Good luck with yours!

Your welcome Scott. Here is another link to some great and free software that assists in industry standard script formatting. I'm currently using it to write a feature length screenplay.

Hey Jeffery. Welcome to the group. I really enjoyed working on the 48 hour film project with you and everyone else on the AB Tech team. I look forward to working with you on projects in the future.
